Jina Hyojin An is a South Korean composer for film and visual media currently based in Los Angeles. Jina has had the opportunity to compose music for various films: Freelancers Anonymous, a comedy feature directed by Sonia Sebastian. She also worked with director Mina Fitzpatrick on the documentary, A Letter For Sangah, premiered at the St. Louis International Film Festival also selected to be screened at the CAAM Fest, one of the biggest Asian American Film Festivals in the US.
She has worked with Oscar-winning composer Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, 500 days of Summer) on numerous feature films such as the Oscar-nominated animation feature "The Breadwinner" Produced by Angelina Jolie, "On the Basis of Sex" Starring Felicity Jones and many more.
During her studies at Berklee College of Music, Jina was awarded the highest honor - The Georges Delerue Award, for recognition of her original voice and sincerity in her music.
Jina has recently finished writing for the second season of the CBS show, "Strange Angel" and is currently working on the upcoming Disney animation show "Mira, Royal Detective"
Other than composing, Jina enjoys playing her viola in sessions and performances. Notable performance includes the Dream Theater North American Tour 2014 at the Boston Opera House and also with Aaroh Vijay Prakash at the Berklee Performance Center. Most recent performance includes “ The Victory Celebration” at the Ace Hotel Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, with artist Victory Boyd (Jay-Z ROC NATION).
